The ITC Global Satellite Communications Laboratory at RMIT University
ITC Global has provided the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne an industry-standard two-way earth terminal, giving RMIT University students and researchers access to cutting-edge satellite communications technology. This sponsorship allows RMIT students the chance to gain a practical understanding of the challenges involved in operating live satellite links. Students learn skills they will need for the their careers by working on the actual systems that are used in the industry.
ITC Global's support not only enhances RMIT's research capabilities in satellite communications but will also enable graduates to hit the ground running when they head into the workforce. The Dikembe Mutombo Foundation
ITC Global is proud to support the efforts of NBA All-Star Dikembe Mutombo of the Houston Rockets in improving the health, education and quality of life for the people in his birthplace, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A cornerstone of the Foundation's efforts is the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital and Research Center. Telemedicine - which connects a physician in the U.S., for example, to a doctor and patient in the Congo - plays an integral role at the hospital, and this is where ITC Global comes in.
When ITC Global learned the hospital did not have the proper capacity and bandwidth to support the telemedicine program, we offered a solution. Act as a liaison with our many customer's in Africa and all over the world to utilize bandwidth sitting idle during off-hours. Connecting the generosity of our customers to the needs of the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital is one way we contribute to the mission of improving the health and welfare of the people of the DRC.
